Taxi:
Kathmandu is an amazing place with bustling streets full of contrasting colors. We arrived into the small red brick airport where our immigration papers were checked by a small man with dyed bright orange hair and a red dot on his brow. Our taxi was a dingy broken down Ford Cortina that was decked out with old woolen rugs and bright flower garlands hanging across the top of the windscreen. The boot was closed with a piece of string and a thick layer of brown dust all over inside and out finished it off. Our driver was so friendly and full of current affairs updates from around the world. Almost immediately the high standard of English struck me and I got the impression that communication would be much easier than I had anticipated.
