The second and third generation of our guesthouse family churned butter for our open fire toast in Ghandrung at the oldest tea house in the village.
We met a family that founded the Sunflower School and health centre in Kimche village in the mountains. The Owner is a retired mountain porter and marathon runner who ran the 100km Himalayan race several times! What an amazing and positive guy. His school began when an English traveller entrusted 6,000 dollars to him to support his local community. He built a stone school in fifteen days from where him and his wife teach the locals English, healthcare and general lessons on how to be good and effect their surroundings and the planet positively. He was a cool inspiring man with wise opinions about our time on earth.
